TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT

1. Purpose

This agreement outlines the responsibilities of parents/guardians whose children are enrolled on SmartHouse to ensure a safe, respectful, and effective learning environment.

2. Parent / Guardian Responsibilities

• Ensure your child has a quiet space, stable internet, and necessary materials for class.
• Supervise young learners (under 10) during login, but avoid interfering during teaching unless requested by the tutor.
• Ensure punctuality. Log in at least 5 minutes before class time.
• Ensure the child is properly dressed and ready to learn with camera on.

3. Attendance and Punctuality

• Classes will start on time. No extra time will be given for late logins.
• If a child will be absent, notify the tutor/platform at least 12 hours in advance.
• 2 consecutive absences without notice may lead to forfeiture of that class fee.

4. Payment Terms

• All fees must be paid in full before classes commence.
• Fees are non-refundable after the first class has been taken.
• Monthly subscriptions must be renewed 2 days before expiration to avoid disruption.

5. Communication

• All official communication should go through the platform's portal, not the tutor's personal number.
• Parents will receive weekly progress reports and feedback.
• Please allow 24 hours for response to queries.

6. Code of Conduct

• Parents and students must treat tutors and staff with respect. Abusive language, threats, or harassment will not be tolerated.
• All complaints should be channeled to SmartHouse admin.
• Recording, screenshotting, or sharing class content without permission is strictly prohibited.
• Parents must not join a class and impersonate their child for assessments.

7. Academic Integrity

• Parents should guide, not do the work for the child. Homework and tests must reflect the child's own effort.
• We do not guarantee grades, but we guarantee quality teaching and support.

8. Privacy and Safety

• Classes may be recorded for quality and safety purposes.
• We will never share your child's personal information with third parties.
• Parents must ensure login details are not shared with non-enrolled learners.

9. Technical Issues

• In case of network failure from our side, a free makeup class will be scheduled.
• If the issue is from the parent/student side, the tutor will wait 15 minutes, after which the class will be marked as completed.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any parent/student who violates these terms, with or without refund depending on the severity.
